HELLO AGAIN BAHAMAS!!!!
Whew. What a breathe of fresh air. Hello again Bahamas!!!!! It feels sooooo good to be back and in your blue waters. Caught a tuna along the way = Sushi and Seared Tuna Feast. Wade already harvested conch = Cracked Conch Feast. Went to the old stomping grounds and had Bimini Bay Resort Pool all to ourselves and a lovely secluded beach with shallow pristine waters nearby, as well. Ahhh...this is where it all began and the romance is rekindled!
Work, work, work. Play,play, play!
Work, work, work.
Still in Miami. Lot's of work. We polished the entire boat with 3M cleaner and wax and got the beard off that we grew in the ICW. Today we put together the new stay and furler, hoisting Wade up and down the mast a few times. My surfboard, a 7'0 Walden mini magic finally arrived from L.A. so we are just about set. Tomorrow we will tackle the new radar arch that we had made from Beneteau. Along with all the other daily maintenance it has been work, work, work.
Putting together the stay and Profurl for the storm sail.
Send off from Captain Billy Beavers and Jeff and Annie and Michael and friends...party ensued on on Just Drifting!
...Just Drifting is looking beautiful with her new radar arch and she is ready to sail!!!! The start of THE BIG ADVENTURE!!!

Water maker, Cutlass Bearing and Prop, Liferaft
Wade takes the first sip of water he made with the EcH2O Tec Water maker that he installed.
Meanwhile.....in Annapolis...we are hauled out at Jabin's Shipyard to file the prop and put in a new cutlass bearing to stop the prop from "singing".
we can't stay on the boat since it is in the sling overnight sooo....we stay in an awesome B&B called the Academy Bed and Breakfast (just behind the Naval Academy in the Harbor). After a nice long bath I get to catch up on the computer and our blog!
We missed the Sailboat show by a week but we made the PowerBoat Show. Wade, of course, did his homework asking questions, googling, analyzing and deliberating all 3 days and, of course, made the best purchase. We decided on a 6 person Viking Liferaft made in Denmark packed in a valise that we can store on the top of our cockpit locker next to our ditch bag that contains the EPIRB. It really is feeling great to be getting our off-shore equipment together and working...it's a relief and let's you breathe easy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! 2012!!!!!!!!!
Wade and I wish you and your loved ones smooth sailing, blue skies and pristine waters in the coming year. We had a most lovely Christmas in November with Wade's family in Iowa and again in Costa Rica with Maureen's family surfing, fishing and eating. Santa was very good at bringing gifts all the way from India and Nepal, so Wade was very happy with his elephant t-shirt, book ends and ornate table runner.
New Years Eve at Coconut Grove Sailing Club was a blast. Dinner and dancing and sparkly crowns made for a very festive evening. After midnight we went out for a sail on Jeff's boat "Moon Glow" and enjoyed a balmy night on satin calm waters returning home at 5:00 a.m.!
Ordering the last of the equipment like a furler, stay and storm sail and preparing for our voyage south and waiting in anticipation of the arrival of Maureen's new surfboard that Wade ordered from Walden (whoot whoot!)
